What is in the air?

I was the first out of my friends to get married, and the last one any of us expected I might add! But love came like a train, who could stop it? Now I am happily married and quite charmed by the couples being recently engaged. Fortunately, all  of the couples getting hitched are truly in love. They have prayed and considered their decision for awhile. It's exciting to be happy for a couple engaged when you feel they truly are "right" for one another. 
How sappy am I today? Geeze.

Laura (one of my old college roommates) and David ! 
Erin ( a friend from youth group that I've keep up with all these years) and Ross!  
Natalie and Jon (new friends) ! 
Hayden (Josh's old roommate and long time friend) and Nicole! 
Courtney (childhood friend)  and Tanner!
-not to mention a handful of my high school classmates too 
Hope I haven't left anyone out. We will have a busy spring/summer next year with showers and ceremonies.

Here is something Josh and I have learned about true love.


"Love is a CHOICE. Even though we are commanded in the Scriptures to love, it is still a conscious choice we must make because there are many times when we don't "feel" like loving.  Honest, sincere love can only be exposed after we have accepted the love that only Christ provides to us. Jesus' love is a love so profound that He died for us - took our place on the cross. And we didn't even deserve it! 
Real love is an unconditional commitment to an imperfect person. Most of us wait for the feeling of love to come upon us before we act on that feeling. But right thinking produces right behavior - the feelings will follow. Choose to show the other person love, even if you don't feel like it.  When the words and actions of another rip at our heart, we are called to love.
As we seek to know God, and seek the presence of Jesus in our own lives, HE fills us with the love for others.   He'll fill you with His love and you won't be able to stop that love from spilling out into the lives of others.

    im just at the age where friends are getting engaged and it's a crazy place to be. thanks for the scripture and web reference. i always enjoy reading about love, especially from a Biblical perspective.

    it's so good to see your post talking about Jesus and how His love change everything in our life, forever.
